Some Winter Haikus to torture you with...

Ha! Here are some Haikus I wrote about 4 years ago...

Here are some Haiku's in honour of winter...

Winter Chain Reaction

The car I follow
Cleans windshield, wipers washing.
Now I must clean, too.

Ode to De-icer

Melts ice off windshield
Quickly! Artificially!
Should I wash my hand?

Winter Static

I take off my coat
I reach for the door handle
Fuck me, shocked again!

Ode to 16 degrees (not including wind chill)

I can’t feel my face
Are you sure I still have one?
Fine, I believe you.

Cryptic Degrees (Ode to Wind Chill)

If it feels like two,
Why say its nineteen but it
Feels like two? It’s two!

Driving

You’re really too close
To the car in front of you.
Black ice, and you’re fucked.

Overeager Snowplow

Such a waste of time
Plowing the road tonight- but-
the sparks are pretty.

Morning Mistake

I should not have tried
To clean my windshield just yet
Spiderweb of ice.

Chapped

Today, I smiled,
happy about something, and
my lip split in two.

Christmas Beach Visit Photos

This is the town on the Cape where I grew up. The moon was out in the day, as my nephew pointed out, it must have been confused...

At the end of the boardwalk, across the marsh, was a Christmas tree, with real and man made shell ornaments on it...

Christmas FO's

Scarf Knit with Rowan Chunky

Detail of scarf, playing with Macro features of my new camera- Canon SD600

My "Hand Knit by Annie" label- I hate that fucking sheep. I really wish I could find labels with a more simplistic, less simpering looking sheep on them!

Hat made to match the scarf, using leftover wool.

Argosy from Knitty, knit using peace fleece yarn- this is one of a couple of hat/scarf sets I've knit/been working on for my best friend.

Argosy with a hat- there wasn't really a way to make a truly matching hat, so I used a cable/lace pattern to pick up on the lace squares in Argosy...

Dishcloth from Mason Dixon knitting, in navy and white-

I'm Still Alive...

but suffering from a nasty sinus infection. I had a wonderful visit with my in-laws. I can't believe what a cool little kid my nephew is (more on that later). My family were here through the new year and just after they left I came down with the sinus infection from hell. All the immuno-suppresants I'm on don't really help, either!!

I STILL don't have my (6 month old) Vaio laptop back. Best Buy got it back from Sony, with a BIOS password on it. My computer never had a BIOS password, and so the thing was useless, and had to be sent back to Sony again for another "new" motherboard. My opinion of Sony has fallen quite a bit. I also had to send back the 5 month old DVD recorder/player I had bought, so now I am sans laptop and sans DVD player. They've had my laptop since before Thanksgiving! And I got a Canon SD600 and an ipod for Christmas, so I really, REALLY want my damn laptop!

I haven't been on-line very much, since my eyes hurt so much from the sinus horror, but I'll be back on soon to catch up with everyone's blogs and fill you in on my holiday and post some FO pics. Hope you're all well!!
